Eye Make up Disaster?

Post  Miss_Juicy on Wed Oct 07, 2009 5:10 pm

Ok, well I decided to get some eyelashes... And I tried doing my make up... but I think it came out horrible...

Any advice for what could fix it?

I think that it's perfectly fine, maybe try some black eyeshadow next to the liner to give it a smouldering effect.

Also I have the most ugly eyebrows... -_-;; Any ideas of making them look better?

You could make them longer with eyebrow powder or pencil, you could cut the hairs shorter and fill them back in to make them softer.

Hmmm Sounds like a good idea.... but.. does it have to be eyebrow powder specifically or can I use brown eyeshadow? Eyebrow powder probably smudges less correct? sweatdrop

It's hard to say without an extreme close-up of your eye, but from what I can tell, it really doesn't look bad at all. You're probably just not used to seeing yourself in eye make like this.

I would make sure that the eyeliner on top extends all the way to the inner corner of your eye. This will help camouflage where the false lash ends. The line should be as dark and precise as as possible. Try using a thin eyeliner brush and a gel/cream-based eyeliner.

Another thing to try would be to line your waterline with a black eye pencil. I think this gives the eyes a more finished and glamorous appearance.

As for your brows, I agree with the suggestion to extend the tails out more using a light colored brow pencil or powder. They're thin enough as is and pretty arched, so there's no need to tweeze them any further.

Finally, not really a makeup suggestion, but maybe give circle lenses a try. For light eyes like yours, think grey lenses would look really pretty.

yea I had some circle lenses once... they were called angel blue... they didnt look good on me because my iris would show through where the pupil was suppossed to.

Most circle lenses are suppose to do that because many asian girls/boys have brown eye so the opening makes the pupil look bigger then it really is.

The pupil hole usually is really large and obvious, but this is true of most cosmetic contact lenses, even commercial ones you pick up at the eye doctor. Some people have naturally larger pupils so the difference isn't as noticeable. If you don't, the trick is to find a style/color that blends with your natural eye color. Again, I think grey would work well for you. Most blue and green lenses aren't very natural looking, though that may be why some people like them.

If you're curious, take a look at the Soompi Photobucket:

There are pictures of many different lenses, including some worn by non-Asians with naturally light eyes like yours.

I think it looks great. I agree with Yanyan though, you need a little eye liner and that will make the lashes more natural looking. (I love the style you got too) As far as your eyebrows go, I personally would just lengthen them a touch. I use eyeshadow for mine, it doesn't last all day, but if I do a touch up midday or so it's good to go.
