Ayumi is a solo artist, I don't believe that she has ever been in a group.

Ayu sure is amazing......even though she had a sketchy upbrining, she still managed to be one of Japan's biggest ever divas. She's set off quite a few trends amongst Gals I think, and she is definitely someone I hope to aim for lookswise when I am her age!!
Although, it probably won't ever happen
Has anyone given a listen to Next Level yet? It's a very good album, not a single song I don't like. I like her new music direction too.

Ayumi has sold 40 million albums and I think that is one hell of an achievement! Plus she's stunning too, a fashionista and a keen business woman I think. Ayumi knows what she wants and has probably one of the biggest influences in Japan. She writes her own songs and her concerts are legendary! Next Level was such a fantastic album! She can never do wrong can Ayumi! She's so stunning too and a great musician.

Ayumi is the whole reason I'm so into Japan and it's pop culture...
(ok her and Gackt, but that's besides the point)
I think it's incredible she's still touring and she's deaf in one ear now....
most other musicians today would cry, whine, and bitch about it
then probably write a memoir and make millions lawl

She's going deaf in her second ear also, which is a shame. At times, I want her to just quit and take care of herself, but she said in an interview all she knows how to do and enjoy is work, so I don't know what she'd do if she just gave up, y'know? Ultimately, as long as she is happy, I will carry on following her!
