<3 Hello all you lovely GALS!

Hi, hi everyone, I'm Abbie I'm from Southern California and it's nice to meet you all! I'm really glad I found this fourm~!
Hmm, I'm a beginner Gyaru, started actively dressing since the summer of this year, but I've been interested in Gyaru for a really long time, I just didn't know what it was! Hahah.

Let's see, I try to style my fashions and make up after the models in mags like Popteen, Ranzuki, and EGG. I love dressing hime gyaru as well!

I actually only discovered these forums a few months ago, so I'm fairly new here as well. I'm not new to gyaru, obviously, but new to Forever Gyaru. XDDD

Heya Abbie! I'm YanYan from the UK, I've been gyaru for over a year. I'm sure that you'll find a lot of resources here. Remember self research is key but don't be afraid to ask for help with making your make-up, hair etc better. Hope you find this forum helpful Cool

Hi Kiri, it's nice to meet you! I'm 19, and I'll be turning 20 this December 18th.
No, as of right now I'm not in a cir, but I hope to join one soon! Hmm, my favorite style I guess would be Onee, but I just try to model myself after the looks in my favorite mags! I like looking sexy sometimes, but other times I just really cute and girly styles or casual when I feel lazy, XDD!

It's really nice to meet you too, everyone here seems so friendly and helpful! And thank you, for your compliments! I wish I could be a Gal model! XD

Hi, YanYan it's nice to meet you! Oh yeah, before I started actively dressing Gyaru I researched a lot of models and studied the magazines like Popteen, Egg and Ranzuki (I still study them!) for examples on how to dress and how to apply make-up. And yes, I will ask, if I just get stumped. Very Happy

There's always room for improvment!

Tp NEVER EVER use magazines as research, gyaru is a street fashion and not a magazine fashion, you need to look on sites, blogs and garuzupress is also a great way to keep up-to-date. Magazines are a bad way to follow gyaru, find other ways to research apart from magazines.

I completely disagree. There's nothing wrong with using magazines as a fashion reference, especially for Western gyaru who don't have direct access to Japan. Many blogs like Cherry Pop and Universal Doll use magazines as a jumping off point to explain and showcase trends anyway, so it's unavoidable.

If you're implying that looking at gyaru magazines and using them as inspiration will make you cookie cutter and unoriginal, that's no fault of the magazine. In the end, it's up to you to coordinate your outfits and style your hair and make. You determine the trends you want to follow. Personally, I really don't see the problem with copying a look from a magazine, so long as you look good. How would anyone even know?

I'm not saying that magazines are the end all be all, but they are a valuable guide, so I don't think it's fair to discount them completely.

I read magazines but I know that they aren't a true representation, most western gyarus only rely on what's in them because they can't be bother doing some research and relying on them solely is wrong in my opinion, never forget that this is a street fashion and not a magazine fashion.
