Hi, I'm Vicky
I'm not in any gal circles yet because I haven't really been exposed all that much "SHAME". well, letsee... I am 18 years old and I live in California=]
I would I have to say I started oout with Ganguro interests, but I toned it down, and now I really love the Gyaru and Onee styles. I believe they fit me more=]
So far, everyone seems really friendly here, and I'm enjoying it so far!

Yo~ I'm YanYan from England may I just say that I fucking love your hair! I really, really love it! Don't worry sometimes not being exposed to the western gyaru scene is really a good thing. I advise you do gyaru-kei until you are of onee age. Really they're the same styles except onee is for over 20s and is a bit more sophisticated. If you have any questions just ask.

Re: Finally!!^_^
i agree with yanyan, sometimes NOT seeing western gals is better ^^;;;
i might be visiting CA, but i live in MO >_>; *sigh* and i did it the same
way as you, i started with manba, and then liked banba, and now i like the
even more toned down styles like tsyome, or onee, as far as make goes.

Re: Finally!!^_^
Awh, thank you YanYan! My hair is normally really wavy, so it's a pain to straighten it=]
It's mainly a huge mess of layers, it kind of looks like a jungle
But I loveee your eyes! It's so big, in a gooood way=] Yes, I think I will just stick with the Gyaru-Kei for now because Onee involves expensive brands and neutral colors. I like bright colors=]
"sigh" but you know, as for western gyarus, there is quite a bit of people here who are also starting out
as in circle lenses, fake eyelashes and realllly big teased poofy hair. It looks good, but there are so many of them... I can't tell who is who any more=].
Kiri, if you do visit California, tell me! there are lots of places here that can cater to your tsyome, onee needs.

Re: Finally!!^_^
Trust me I work hard to look anywhere near what I do
The other day my hair was like Hiroshima in a hairstyle (just put that in there because Hikitty laughs at that) When I curl my hair I take a long time preparing in the night before and often sleep uncomfortably and looking very sexy in a shower cap to keep my curls together. No one ever said beauty was easy. I like you already because you've done your own research and I really love it when people do that! I certainly agree, you should never become a clone and sadly westerners clamp 'rules' on Japanese fashions and make it more conformist than it is in Japan. What I advise is find a hairstyle that looks very gyaru and suits you, look through magazines, watch clips, look at street snaps and then create a gyaru make-up style that suits your face. I put my own spin on things regularly, it's good to mix different style influences with gyaru. Never forget hair, nail and make-up, also a tan helps and never worry too much over clothes because a true gyaru can wear anything and still look gyaru.

Re: Finally!!^_^
Hiroshima in a hairstyle? whoa...haha
Yes, I also think that curling hair also takes a very long time, and with me, I just never really have the time to do that. I also heard that velcro curlers, the big kind, works wonders with root booster, mousse, and of course, a blow dryer
For my hair, I started experimenting and chopped off random pieces to get the look I wanted=] It wasn't exactly smart, but it grew out=] When I want it defined wavy and not frizzy I root boost it, wax it, scrunch it, cool air dry it, and then hairspray it. Yes, beauty is a big bitch
Yes I think that when you are experimenting with the whole gyaru scene, it's a lot more fun to add new compliments and make it original. Who'd really want to copy someone else's creation? The fact that westerners here really catch on to each other's trends... the trends spread like a virus, so nothing is really authentic here anymore. haha, I worship youtube on the gyaru videos, I watch it constanly and I never get tired of them..I'm so weird!
I thought tans were starting to go out of style on gyaru, so I started wanting to make my skin lighter..You look so natural though, it looks great! I tend to slave and pile on layers of mascara because fake eyelashes don't work for me.

Re: Finally!!^_^
I have an incredibly busy lifestyle, especially towards this time of the year and I always make time to do my hair and make-up. If I'm going from one thing to the next I do my hair and make-up in the car (I am quite the expert, yes I can even do liquid eyeliner in the car), I get up early before I go anywhere no matter how early it is just to make myself look presentable. Busy lifestyles are no excuse for not doing your hair and make-up. When curling your hair I advise you go for something with intense heat if it's hard to curl your hair, my hair is naturally super straight..... me thinks I should do a tutorial one time
I totally agree about not wanting to be a clone, which I never have been in my entire life. Haha, I am in no way naturally like that it takes a lot of effort and practise with make-up and my hair and photoshop to look that good for me XD Tans aren't going out, remember gyaru is not a magazine style, even the models have quite tanned skin, they're just blasted with light in the shoots. Plus westerners look better as tanned gyaru because it it makes them look more gyaru. I don't use fake eyelashes or piles of mascara, really I don't need to wear mascara at all because my eyelashes are so long and curl (they're actually longer and curl more than fake ones XD) yes I'm a lucky bitch I know XD

Re: Finally!!^_^
The same goes for me, I can't remember the time when I've a relaxed day or so.... Everything is just so hyped in my life right now. Hmm I use to wake up at least two hours earlier to get ready. I should prepare the night before with some things, but I realized that the result looks better if I had just done it; like my hair. I'm not a clone either, haha believe me, I've worn some pretty odd things or at least experimented quite a bit of different types of make-up. But once you decide to try something new, people catch on like...... freaken 3 months later and they call it their own..It's unavoidable, however, when that happens, you just have to look better at what they're copying you about. Problem solved=]
I'm always swaying back and forth between liking my tan or not; it's just sometimes when I see the pictures of all the gyarus, they look really good with their dramatic eyes and pale skin, and then sometimes I see one with tan skin and big eyes too... Hahaha it gets me everytime.
Long eyelashes? You big fat loser!!!!!!!!
hahahah
