minna-san!!

Post  ikariri on Thu Aug 27, 2009 4:08 am

Konnichiwa. I'm Lydia. Ridia in Japanese but my Japanese friends just call me Riri (-^v^-)

I don't have much of a favorite style of gyaru since I love and respect all gyaru (^3^)V

But I am aiming for more of a Kogal look with my makeup. I'm still working on how to incorporate more gyaru style into my own clothing style ^^' I'm a bit too picky with what I wear haha.

But I absolutely love love love the gyaru style and I look up to gyaru so much^-^

So minna-san tomodachi ni narimashou ne o(-^w^-)V

Hello and welcome! Smile
I love kogals too! I wish I could walk around in a school uniform all the time (especially with loose socks!!♥♥♥)! o(>w<)o
I study Japanese at school; I've just started my 2nd of Japanese studies. For how long have you been studying Japanese?

to kiri: thankyou^^ i really like my name. it reminds me of an old bronte novel. ^^ i'm 19 and i live in the united states. florida to be more exact. haha.

to kyon: thanks, i hope so too^^

to riina: i know right!! they're so cute! i tried to dress kogal at the first anime convention i went to a couple months ago but i didn't have the loose socks so it wasn't really kogal T^T i was pretty upset. but i plan on buying some loose socks for the next one. but it's gonna cost like 30 dollars to ship them over from japan. D: i don't study japanese in school, thought i really really want to take some japanese classes. i've been trying to teach myself japanese for about 3 and a half years now though. dakara, douzo yoroshiku onegaishimasu!

I wouldn't get loose socks if you are only going to use them for the sake of being kogal, they're pretty unfashionable now for kogal so you'd only really use them if you genuinely liked them. They've dissapeared from the magazines to be replaced by tight, up-to-the-knee socks and you won't see many current Japanese school girls with them on anymore -- no matter if they're kogal or not. Kanako did a 'back to school' section almost in Egg recently and she was pulling a face at loose socks while wearing tight ones. Soooo.....

Oh you're learning by yourself?? That must be hard! I tried to learn it by myself at first, but then I started learning at school instead and I realized that the things I had been learning before, wasn't all correct... Though my teacher was pretty impressed by my vocabulary! Very Happy haha

About the loose socks; I know they're not in fashion anymore. My Japanese friend told me some time ago that most girls wear black (at least dark) knee socks instead. But I can't help it, I still love loose socks a lot!! xD

They are cute aren't they? I used to really want a pair but I've outgrown that desire somehow in the past year as I don't like the idea of wearing a school uniform after having worn them for the majority of my life haha

i'm not learning all by myself. my friend yoko has been helping me. she's from japan so if i say something incorrectly she always helps me out.

and i know now that loose socks are being replaced with black knee-highs but it can't be helped, i love the loose socks. and i''m not getting them just for the kogal look. i'm really excited about wearing them with my everyday outfits. kawaii i think they'll look really cute over a pair of skinny jeans^^
