| Did / does everyone go to a uniformed school? I went to a school where dressing like a ho was common, or a gangsta. And if your shorts didn't go up places they didn't belong, then you're not cool. Haha. But only the fat chicks got yelled at for wearing shorts because they were being "unnecessarily inappropriate." --- ALRIGHT. Onward to your question! O:< (Keep in mind, I'm JUST starting to get into outfit-making, so my advice won't be the best, haha) Try something some more accessories. Such as: A long necklace with a pendant on it, (a couple of) bracelets on both wrists, a ring or two, and some sort of headband (Though they are some debates about the "cuteness" factor of usamimi, they are quite popular right now). And put your hair up? Like a high sideways pony. I love your braids, but most people with braids just wear them down. ; __ ; and it's sad, I'm like, "show them off~" ^is that weird? xDD |

| No problem! :3 I recently went accessory shopping my self--so fun! *__*
Charlotte Russe is having a "all shoes for only $20" sale atm. And Hot Topic is having a "all accessories are bogo 1/2!"
I went on a good day, that's for sure. Too bad F21 wasn't having a sale, or I would have gotten a lot more there. ; __ ; |

| Well, since you can't do much about the outfit, I would say focus on accessories, I'd say pick simple pieces that are uniquely gyaru Here is a tip I got from Mitsu's (Universal-doll) formspring | Quote: | Hats & scarves I think are two easy, cheap things that can make outfits really look cool. Both transfer from summer to fall very well if choosing the right texture. Stay away from straw with hats, but felt and such are much better for going into colder temps. Porkpie and bowler hats are the two hat trends going into Fall.
For scarves: pick larger scarves so they can be worn several ways such as around the neck, as a headbow, as a belt, or hanging off a bag.
Both items can be gotten pretty cheap. I just checked eBay and bowler hats in hot colors like red (Gilfy's red bowler sold out immediately) are $10.00. ♥ |
and I'm not sure if this is allowed, but maybe adding on a light sweater or blazer? Fake glasses? They can all add a nice touch to an outfit
As for hair, I would make sure it has lots of volume, and try curls, or waves if time in the morning is your problem you may try sleeping with rollers?

I'm sorry, my explanation is a little confusing ._. hope that helped |

| Thanks chaudalyn for the videos they gave a ton of ideas As for my personal style that's when I flunk out cause gyaru-kei is soooo broad and its muc easier to know what to wear or what to shop for if you're in a substyle |

| Well the style doesn't have to be defined like Hime, Ganguro, Celeb kei...etc
You can look at what you like about Gyaru and just do that. Mitsu doesn't even have a clearly defined look. She just goes with what she feels like and loves for the day. You can do that too.
Since you're in school, the other Gals are probably assuming you want to go for Kogal. With is okay. But you would only need to focus on getting the Hair, makeup, and accessories correct.
Do you have any scans of coordinates that you like? Why not look at those and change a few things according to the rules.
Can't wear denim? Wear khaki. Can't wear prints? Wear your favorite color. No leggings? Wear skin hugging capris Want to look better than all the rest? Put as much effort into each style no matter how tired you are.

What sort of horrible colour-related disaster happened to move a school to ban actual colours? Must have been very traumatic. But yes, I agree with everyone above, you just need to accessorize. Try the headscarf trend maybe? I like that trend a lot haha And if you go to a charity shop, you can find some vintage feel scarves for real cheap. |

In the US certain colors can represent gangs so they are trying to avoid gang violence all together. Now that may not be the case for her school but that's what I heard for most school.
Its like my school we can't wear hats(any type) or the hoods of jackets and things.

| Eh, that seems a bit pointless. Banning colours just because they have the potential to be associated with something undesirable. Besides which, black is a very common colour, as is navy blue, in smart wear. |

In this part of the US you aren't allowed to wear white tees with blue jeans anymore because of the gang thing._________________ My Blog Redefines the Western Gal norcalgloss@live.com <--- the fastest way to get a reply @Chaudalyn on twitter <-- second fastest way chaudalyn @ Ricoche.net |

| @chaudalyn:thanks so much for the tips and as for the color thing yes because its gang related red blue and black are not allowed the high school is the only one in reynoldsburg and its really overcrowded so it can get dramatic and violent the staff have completely given up on checking kids for violations you shorts and skirts can't be over 2 inches above the knee yet girls will pull them up you won't get in trouble for wearing black jeans or black stretch jeans people wear blue polos and black camis and admins don't care so its like I said very loose |

| At our school we have to wear the school jumper, polo shirt/shirt, trousers/skirt, nothing that makes you stand out, and it all has to be from a certain store that stocks their uniform. No jewellery or makeup. But I wanna be gyaru. I also have cornrows, I don't want them but I have to have them.
How can I be gyaru at school?
