PostSubject: Advice on hair!?   Sun Mar 13, 2011 4:14 pm

I tried doing a quick style a minute ago and thought it looked kinda gyaru-ish but wasn't quite right. I was just wondering if you guys could give me some advice on how to make it look a bit more gyaru-esque? It would be much appreciated - thank youu. Very Happy <3

(p.s; i'm not wearing any make-up here since i just got outta the shower, please ignore my face. xD)
(p.p.s; sorry for the crappy pictures, i took them with my webcam, it sucks. D:)

Front.

And the back. (:

Once again, thank you! Very Happy <3

My first bit of advice is that you should be changing the direction of your curls on either side of your head. Here both sides of your hair are curling to the left of the image instead of mirroring each other by curling in opposite directions. Either curl both sides inwards towards your face, or both outwards, away from the face. At the moment you have one side going out and one going in.

My next bit of advice is to maybe split the curls up so they aren't lumping together, but that's my personal preference as I prefer many separate curls to two bunched ones.

Finally, release the hair you've tied back on top! It wants to be free! Let it loose, give it a curl and a tease and let it down to frame your face.

Maybe try something like this with the top layers?

Ahh, yes. I curled both sides the same way... d'oh.
I'll fix that. xD

I actually really like that style in the picture - it's super cutee.
I think I'll try that, though I don't know how separating the curls will turn out - last time I tried that it made my hair all poofy and the curls just turned to frizz. ):

But I like it a lot so I will definitely try it - I'll look at some tutorials for the separate curls. :3
Thanks for the advice. ^^; <3

Well if your hair is turning frizzy I would recommend getting some form of defrizzer, like a serum or spray that you can add to your hair as it dries or before styling. If your hair is quite fly away there are other things you can do to help calm it down if the defrizzer isn't as effective as you'd like.

This was one of the first things to pop up on google and has a few tips that you could try. If your hair turns quite frizzy when you separate the curls it might be that your hair is dry to begin with, so try a deep conditioner or a hair mask to give it some moisture.

Okay, so I bought a de-frizz spray yesterday and I think it worked!
I also looked at some separating curls tutorials, and I think I was just doing it wrong, haha.
I used a moulding serum as I separated the curls which I think was what really made the difference. Last time I think I just created a massive head full of static, lmao.

So I tried the hairstyle in the picture, and tho it didn't come out exactly the same (my hair never really curls too well to begin with, I dislike it very much sometimes. T___T) it still looks similar, I think. xD

Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I do think it sort of resembles the picture. :')
It needs practise, and I was lazy and used my straightener to curl it. Razz

Thanks for the tips, I'll bookmark the page in case the spray doesn't work. (: <3

Thats better!! One thing i would reccomend is either using your curling/flat iron or rollers curl the crown this should give it some volume and then you can seprate the peices and move them around and things:)

My hair is longer now, and a different colour to my extensions, but thanks for the advice. Very Happy
If I can afford it, I may get a second lot of extensions in my current colour - I re-attempted this another time a while ago when I had my blue and pink hair and here's how it looked. (:

I've dyed it lighter again since then and I'm planning to dye it black and violet nearer christmas, haha. I need to stay one colour. >___>
