PostSubject: First Make-up Post!   Sun Mar 27, 2011 8:29 pm

Hey!
So this is my first make-up post, I'm soo new to this style of make-up so any critique would be much appreciated!
I followed a tutorial that I found via Google images and this is how it came out. (:
(p.s. I don't have any false lashes on in these pictures as the ones I ordered have yet to arrive! ^^; )
(p.p.s. Sorry the colours are so washed out, I took the pictures by my window and my skin is naturally pale. I'm wearing much more make-up than it looks like. D:)

Also, I didn't do anything with my hair except straighten it, so it looks super lame.. T____T'

Weird pose. o____o;
*ashamed*

Anyways, any advice you guys have is welcome! I'd love to know how to improve on this.
Right now it doesn't look very gyaru to me - that may be cause of my lack of false lashes. ;A;
Arigatou in advance. <3

You're so cute!
Lets start at the top and work our way down:)
Brows:They have a nice shape I would just reccomend Lightening them:) You can bleach them, cut off/trim some hairs and then color in with a pencil or powder. I prefer coloring them in that way its not permanent in case you chyange your hair color etc. And then just clean up the hair around them. Some gals shave off half their eyebrow and then pencil that in thats not neccesary whatever works for you:)

Eyshadow:Learn How to contour your eyeshadow. going from lightest to darker out or if you'd like applying the darkest shade to your crease. There are a bunch of tuts on Youtube and Look in Ageha Magazine. Their makeup tutorials are extremly helpful!

Eyeliner:The shape is good but i would reccomend heavier eyeliner at the outer corners of your eye and using a higlighter (a beige or white eyshadow some girls use glitter liner whatever you want) in the inner corner Will help your eyes stand out. Also on your top lid make sure the eyeliner above your iris is the highest point This will make your eyes seem bigger.

Eyelashes: Get some lashes I would reccomend Top and BOTTOM. You can get a bunch of different styles on ebay for less than 2 dollars (10 pairs in a box) and layer them to make different styles. I Personally cut top lashes into bottom lashes
example: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OAwW0XOYOKI/TYEfL03ID2I/AAAAAAAABIE/NVU_C6Ia32U/s1600/1300303349718.jpg
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4QbBGDzMHqw/TYEesRYUJUI/AAAAAAAABH8/SAb5HA9y5sg/s1600/1300303198842.jpg

Contouring: Properly contour your face by using a brown eyeshadow (some people use foundation) thats 1-2 shades darker then your skin tone and highlight your face with a beige or white eyeshadow. To contour your nose higlight straight down your nose using the eyshadow (I use eyeliner) taking your shading powder shade down the sides of the HIGHLIGHT not your nose.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWVToz0ENXs This should help:)

Blush:I would reccomend a pale pink blush because of your pale skin tone: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_s0RO_bCHaoM/TQGFMJQI_lI/AAAAAAAAA_Q/FOM1BHAQOHU/s1600/NYX%2BPinky%2BBlush.jpg
Nyx's Pinky is a great example of a shade That I think would look good on you. Another thing I find Is that many Gals Take a darker blush and apply to the outer cheeks then take a lighter shade to highlight the apples of their cheeks:)

Lips:A Pale Pink shade such as nyx's narcissus: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_pdZsyzUdVF4/SyPe1XqQyAI/AAAAAAAAAbQ/J_1JXwkdzM8/s320/S6003834-1b.jpg or mac's st germain (also pictured) would look great! Or you can take a brighter pink lipstick and apply concealer/foundation to lighten it up and then apply a pink/clear gloss over it.

Highlighting and contouring: http://www.ricoche.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2181&d=1249632413
Make Tut from Ranzuki(This shows the eyeshadow contouring I was Talking about:) http://www.ricoche.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2536&d=1261882844

(Base Make Tut from Jelly)
Hair:I would look In ageha for different styles (their beauty section is huge): http://www.vvshu.com/view/ageha/
Nails:There is a love nails group on ricoche and The moderator has 3 albums filled with nails: http://www.ricoche.net/forums/album.php?u=3484
You have to be signed up to view but there great inspration if you plan on doing your nails yourself

Thanks! ^__^;
So much helpful info and resources - thank youuu! Very Happy

I was wondering about the lipstick and blushes for soo long! Now I know what type of shades to go for!
And as for my eyebrows, they need a looot of work. I don't think I'd want to bleach them, since I'm going to be dying my hair soon anyway, I'll probably trim them and colour them in, hehe.

Eyeshadow - I usually put a browney shade in my crease.. I must have forgotten that day. >__<

Eyeliner - Any good recommendations for a highlighter or will just any white do? xD

Eyelashes are waiting on my desk, hehe. I'll be using them this weekend and posting an update picture - hopefully it'll look much better! (:

Contouring - Thanks for the video, I'm never sure how much brown to use cause I don't want it to look strange. :L

Again, thank you for all the helpful advice and resources - it'll help me improve so much! Wave <3

For highlighter depending on what look I want I use hard candy's walk the line in lace
http://i.walmartimages.com/i/p/00/67/60/45/60/0067604560069_500X500.jpg
Or hard candy's cream highlighter in brown:
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_JbT0nl1GI-4/S1oB1jJC-XI/AAAAAAAACpo/ZzbRl9sYn30/s400/027.JPG
or Just regualr white eyeliner

I like the cream highlighter for more natural gal looks while I use the white and glitter for banba/tsuyome make:)

Anyway I'm really glad I helped out if you need anything else just ask Meh 2

So I thought instead of making a new topic, I'd post this here!
I wanted to show you guys how I've been doing my make recently, because I feel like my style of make has changed a lot since I first posted here!

It's sort of Tsubasa Masuwaka inspired, I guess. I'm using full lower lashes now instead of the little pieces and I feel this make is my best yet. xD
Tell me what you guys think!

Without glasses..

With glasses..

Have I improved since you last saw my make?
Any advice is still appreciated!! Thanks. Very Happy <3

Hi ^u^

First, I really like your lashes! They suit your face so well and look really natural.

You said you went for a Tsubasa Masukawa-inspired look, so that's the guideline I'm going for Meh 2 haha.
I'm looking at this picture for reference:

First, I think the "width" of the eyeliner you applied is really nice!
However, try making the line longer than your face, ending it in a thin line that almost resembles an eyelash. Use the tip of your eyeliner to make it.

Next, try using some eyeshadow. Brown colors work really well for me, but Tsubasa seems to be fond of a more golden color (I don't know if that is all Photoshop, haha). Try applying a light shade on all of your eyelid, and at the outer cornes, use a darker shade (Tsubasa doesn't do this, but you can eventually use that shade in the crease of your eye as well, which makes the eye pop more (well... speaking out of what works on my own eyes!))
Also, use the darker tone underneath your eye like you would use an eyeliner. Don't go all the way to the inner corner of the eye, just make a "smokey" line that is darkest at the corner of your eye and becomes brighter towards the middle.

Hope you understand what I am trying to say ~ Question

Otherwise, go for it, because you have goorrrrgeous eyes Wave I wish I had your eyecolor.

Hey! Thanks for all the advice!
(Also, thanks for the compliments on my falsies and eye colour, tehe! Very Happy <3)
I completely understand what you're saying, but I think I did actually do most of that, hehe ^^;

I guess they're just bad pictures to use as an example. ;______;

The fact you couldn't see my winged eyeliner means I did it like an eyelash, tho, right? Razz
Haha, but I guess I should maybe give my eyeshadows more definition, I can see how you didn't see the changes in colour etc, also it is a bit light underneath. I think my camera just washes me out a lot, because when I do it irl, it seems a lot better than in the pictures. D:

Hopefully this one shows you better. This is how I ALWAYS wear my make-up without falsies, no matter what style I'm wearing. :3

So you can see how I gradate (is that the right word to use?) my eyeshadows and use a winged eyeliner, I think it was just the pictures and my falsies making it look like I wasn't doing all that. xD
Also, here's what it looks like with my eyes open..

Btw, I also re-dyed my hair LOL. In case you didn't notice the caramel blonde colour I now have. Razz <3

Thanks, again. Very Happy xo
