| Ok. Here are some images (since I got camera phone and digital camera), of some of my manba looks. I lost my tan in the darker pic, and I had some difficulties with evening out the makeup (had to use foundation for the tan all over my body). Sadly I ended up forgetting my concealer, and had to use some crappy eyeshadow from walmart that took layers and layers to apply, AND I forgot my stickers and eyeliner!!!! *cry* I was soooo panicky, and it was for a fashion show too. *groan* (btw....to make things worse, my shoe ended up breaking before I went on stage!!!! BAD day that was!!! BUT! It went smoothly...) I did some where I didnt bother with a tan (since I was experimenting with lolita at the time). But I was wondering, and it got me curious in my intro forum... What can I do to make it better? Did I fail terribly these two times? Again, I LOVE yamanba and manba (I dont have any pics of my old yamanba style before I did lolita. I didnt have any digital cameras or even a cell phone then. *face palm*) I do want to improve, and since I am going to be getting back hardcore again (why I am tanning agan. I have 21 tanning memberships! ^.^ I even have some out of state so when I visit relatives, I still get the discounts. yup..thats where all my money goes. lol Besides my bjds....but thats a whole nother story..*wince* *looks at empty wallet and condemning ElfDoll*) ANYWAY. Im going back to hardcore, and I want opinions from other gals finally, and I need ideas and new ways to do colors, my eyeliner and such. Im tired of doing same old, so maybe if I get another opinion and YOUR ideas, it will help IMMENSELY. These are two different times I did it, one was for a fashion show, the other was for..well...I was bored and I was getting ready to go shopping. Soooo... (taken with cell. I WISH I HAD EYELINER!!!! *dies of shame*) (*dies of shame*) (This one was REALLY bad. I had a nervous grin and the angle was wrong and the make was wrong and the movement sucks!!!) (My stickers were too white and blended in with the make. AND I didnt use eyeliner. I wanted to use little dark and more white) (Same here, and the blending was not done well either.)

| uhh yahh I think you took the nose strip too far into your forehead without blending. >0< BLEEENDD dear blend its your friend..espically when it coems to the top of your nose strip.
umm though i have seen manbas who done blend into their forehead but they never take the strip of white so far. Try ending it with a nice CLEAN line between the brows or right above them.
YOu most def need to add some bright color eyeshadow as well as a heck more black liner.
try creating false eyelashes on your bottom eye..while creating a kind a droopy look. Like Pinky!
Get another foundation because the one you are using is turning you red instead of a nice tan caramel..or brownish color.
Thats all the advice that I can do you seeing as How im more banba. BUT Here is a lovely video guide for you.

Oh! Thank you very much!
Yes...I am looking a bit red there, arent I? >.< Im scared of using too much color, but what would be enough?
Yeah, I have done the designs and false eyelashes before, but I never took any good pictures. Only the one of last time, and it apparently looked like colgate because I had only a white-cream concealer because I ran out of white. The foundation was only because Im not tan anymore, but Im working on it! So hopefully next time I wont have that problem.
What colors do you think would be best?
I was scared to blend because of the spray tan...it kept rubbing off. *facepalm* But do you happen to have any other product ideas that may work instead of a spray tan? (At least until I actually get TAN again...)
I have some pics of some experiments that I did in designing my own style with the help from a friend in a nago-cir in Japan, but it is done in EYESHADOW...Didnt have eyeliner on me at the time. But I wanted to try to come up with some sort of pattern that is ME. I want to do it again with my actual makeup when I get dark againl.
What do you think of the DESIGN (not what I lack or did terrible on or anything. But the style of it) My friend Manami-san (who hates the Manba style and refuses to do anything other than yamanba. ) drew it out for me. (all of ya can comment!)
(hopefully I can eventually get it filled in and complete after I get dark again! Im going to alter things based on the advice Ive been given here, like blending, the nose strip, the thickness, eyelashes, etc).
 (Sorry its sideways...cute bow!) |

| ~*~dont blend it all over your forehead, blend it so it fades to your forhead ~*~dont use stickers if youre doing manba ~*`I still stick with the whole dont do yamanba.its dead,i think youd be great at manba, just do your research. ~*~when you use eyeshadow, try to find pots or cream. theyre easier to blend and stick.
im not too wild about your new design, it looks gothic-esque so... and use a sponge to blend that way you wont rub off your tan.
what kind of white are you using? |

I dont remember what white that was...but it was just some eyeshadow that I had at the time and decided to play with it. I have NO concealer right now...Manami-san said it should be here next week. *groan* *hates japan shipping*
I guess it does look rather gothy. I never really thought of that before...*ponders* *puts on thinking cap* |

| I suggest that you get BRIGHT WHITE Aquacolor Eyeshadow Base KRYOLAN Cyber, these are amazing with what I see people do with them. They are like a base and you apply them with water, so you can get the perfect shape you want and then they are a bit sticky so you can set them with a translucent powder or white eyeshadow. Any they will stay for a long time. Once they dry you can blend them out and shape them like you want. I know that this isn't traditional make up for manba, but I wanted to suggest it because I know it will stay for a long time. I think your need to get a matte black fluid line from MAC. It is a dark black eyeliner and you apply it with a liner brush making it so that your white won't get mixed in with the black eye liner. You might also want to get carbon from MAC to because it is a matte black to set the black eyeliner if you want it will last longer too.

| NAW GURL! you have GOT yo use some liquid liner! no joke~ you want the colors to pop and contrast. if you are using grey thats never going to happen ;O; but it must say, i love the bit of creativity in you make. what you did with the white is cute! the black looks a bit gothic though ^^; make them look more like eyelashes. ok? and finally, be careful when using stickers. they are OUT of date. (i personally like the sticker idea) but they just aren't hot. >_>; T^T any who great job! keep it up~ |

| in my honesty opinion i loathe that look so very much.
I suggest if you are going to be a gal in america that you master and stick to modern styles before you go and try to work with something new..eh old.
the ribbon doesnt work for me..and the design over all dosent look very...umm flattering to your face shape.
you are a gorgeous girl and you need to learn how to work with your face shape, skin tone etc...
I hear MAX factor or MAC has a white panstick out that is really good.
You need to work on your maek-up being smoother. It kinda looks lumpy. As far as the tan goes use the bottled stuff..there is a really good brand i cantr remember the name of at the moment lol XD. seeing as how i dont need to tan and all.
just follow lishas guide. and i would use a bright pink or blue if you are going for eyeshadow lol...
I would really love to see you in lmodern manba make-up because you have such a pretty face im sure you could pull it off. |

| Thanks yall. Actually, (because I cant wait for Manami-san anymore. >.< I just dont have patience!!!) I just ordered white pan stick from MAX today. *whew* So I will have extra white. ^.^
I dont mind putting my yamanba days behind me...but Manami-san would be soooo angry! lol she would probably send me a rattle snake in my next package of concealer! lolz I just wont tell her. *snicker* That has a temper! *dizzy* loz But also, I do like the more out-there looks of yamanba.
Could glitter be a better substitute for stickers??? I noticed some s using glitter under their concealer. Would that be an ok sub?
Ok:
~bye bye stickers *sniffle* ~Blend better ~find something 'ungothy' (SERIOUSLY didnt mean that! >.<) ~bright-pink or blue eyeshadow ~liquid liner ~smoother make ~Check my packages from Japan for any smuggled rattlesnakes
(I was going to say something...but I forgot....)
Another note: I forgot who suggested the idea of a review for my tanning, (I think it may have been Yan Yan), but I think it is a great idea. Would anyone be opposed to me creating a thread with updates on my skin? I have low count of melanin in my skin, so its really difficult to get dark without burning. Should I possibly record my progress and let everyone know how it goes??? |

| There's this self-tanner moisturizer that you can get in different shades and you apply it everyday for seven days and your suppose to be darker by the seventh day. I think you can use one for like 4 months and then got to the next shade to get darker. I tried it but the color it went to was the color I already am. I will find it in my moms pile of stuff when shes not sleeping. |

| Self-tanner is very very good. I have been using it lately and its great. I used to be sheet white and I couldn't tan regularly because skin cancer is in my family and it worries my parents so I couldn't. I recommend tanners such as Jergen's (its the best, smells great, not to harsh, doesn't rub off on clothes) or L'Occitane (i've only just started using this. It takes a while to dry but it does give good color as far as I've seen) |
