I'm starting college, so I will finally be able to wear normal clothes and not a uniform. I am going to be wearing trousers or dark jeans, heels or boots, jackets (blazer-like ones), waistcoats, hats and some cool tops.

All schools in England, regardless of age, have a school uniform -- at least as far as I know. It'd be unusual for a school to not have a uniform. It's so children don't get bullied for having worse clothes than everyone else but all it does is teach highschool students every possible way that a tie, blouse and knee length skirt can be passed off as something acceptable to wear (as deemed by teens XD). English school students specialise in making tying ties so short that they can be about 3 cm long lol because for some reason a short, fat tie is more fashionable than a long, thin one.

As for school supplies I'll be getting mostly pink, cute things and whatever I can get decodened I shall. I was thinking about getting my textiles sewing equipment decodened so that if I forget it after class I'll know straight away that it's mine ... ... because I know I'll lose some of my things within the first week. For clothing I'm going to be as trendy and gyaru as possible while remaining more on the decent side -- I don't want to get a reputation because of the way I dress. I'm anything but 'easy'.

I wore a uniform in Nursery and Primary school Neutral I must have been one of the unlucky ones. I've seen plenty of primary school students wearing uniforms, infact I've never seen any without one! Which part of the country do you live in?

I know a few nurseries that have uniforms but as I know most if not all primary schools are required to wear uniforms.

... wow... that uniform was NOT pretty.
I'm glad I don't go to a uniform school.
If we suddenly turned uniformed, I'm pretty sure there would be a riot.
I know especially one of my friends would go stark crazy.
And there are a few girls that like to wear outfits that are two steps away from being complete dominatrix wear... lol.

Down fall is there's a whole bunch of girls that would roll up their skirts or redesign the whole thing, if they brought uniforms to my school.

[@Tama]
I knew a few girls like that -totally not her-

That made me really laugh XD

That's exactly what English school girls do unless you go to a really, really posh private school where they say 'Mummy and Daddy' (you know the stereotypical English school girls). But when they brought in pencil skirts to our school so that we couldn't roll them up, girls just ended up belting them up high.

Lol, In the Vancouver area in BC has a school that your not allowed to have you skirt above like 2 inchs and you can wear pins on your skirts as long as has either your school logo or nothing graphic or foul language. I already lost that one if I were to get one, I had pins that said master and slave.....

Yeah they tried to enforce that rule in my school, in some schools in England you're only allowed to wear certain coloured underwear.

Yeah, like when poor Robyn found out she was only allowed to wear a flesh coloured bra under her shirt incase it showed through lol But seriously, how are you going to enforce that rule without having to violate the girls that refuse to be 'checked'. The bad thing about that pencil skirt we had to wear was that when you sat down it literally shot up your waist so it was hugging the base of your ribs! It is REALLY difficult having to do a major skirt pull downwards manouvre without alerting everyone else in the class to your predicament XD

this is the one time ill say im glad im an american --------- lack of uniforms!

my uniform in japan was pretty asthetically unappealing... i went to a private school,,,public schools had the cute skirts and less-strict rules. but we'd roll up the skirts and unbutton the shirts. oh! and loose socks, a must!!....ive gotta get some pics uploaded sometime soon >< lol

I live in York, at my Primary school you didn't have to wear uniform, they wanted us to wear specific colours but that was largely ignored. At secondary school we got bollocked if we tried to change our uniforms even slightly. At my nursery in Sheffield there was no uniform, and at the Nursery in York there is no uniform.

Man you're lucky. At nursery we had these little checked dresses to wear XD I suppose it was because it was a private nursery and my parents had to pay for it ... ... I mean, I remember that we had lessons in that nursery as well as play time. Then in primary I wore a navy blue skirt with a little green stripe around the hem and a green jumper with a picture of a deer as the crest. Then in middle school (aged nine to eleven) I wore my first ever tie and carried that on into high school where I wore a tie for four years before the uniform changed so girls didn't have to wear ties anymore.
