FOR THOSE WHO HAVE ASKED THIS QUESTION. Start with gyaru-kei. Knowing how to do the basics will help you a lot if you decide to go into the more extreme styles. As for trying to decide what style is best for you..try them all...really thats the only way YOU will know whats best for YOU.
MY RANT (hopefully no one takes offense to this) Ive been seeing this post a lot lately. Personally I think its a bit bothersome. Im all for helping out new comers but its getting a little sad seeing all these up and coming gals having to ask what style fits them best.
Personally Ive changed my style tons of times. Thats something a gal has to figure out on her/his own. Doing some research will help a lot.
Dont feel like you need to come into one gal style and stick with it for the rest of your "gal life" or even feel like you have to stick with that style until you perfect it!
I think its fun seeing new gals jump into styles such as manba and hime! Its nice having the pictures on the forum then coming back and looking at how you've improved on your style or how you've gone from for example gyaru-kei to banba to VKei gyaru.

I totally agree.
I also think personal style—even with gyaru—is a decision that you need to make for yourself, not put in the hands of other people. (It's like people who can't be bothered to do their own research and just want someone else to give them all the answers.) As long as you have enough confidence to say, "I like this, I want to try it!" then that should be enough of a push to get started. People need to stop being afraid and take chances! Fashion is supposed to be fun, after all.
It's more helpful to try something you like and then ask people for their opinion. That way you can get feedback and criticism based on what you've already done. That's how you learn.

I completely agree with you.
I was starting to get a little miffed with all the "What style?" posts. Like, it's okay to ask, but this is just pushing the envelope. LOL. Envelope. But no, seriously. Research is the best way to find a style, and experimentation too.
